The Pacers beat the Knicks to advance to the Eastern finals. Behind this win was third year Lance ‘Born Ready” Stephenson. Stephenson had a breakout game where he went off for 25 pts, including 9 in the final five minutes of the game.
Lance Stephenson played at Lincoln High School in Brooklyn and is the all-time leading scorer in NY State High School history (2,946). Not only does he hold this record, he also led Lincoln to four straight PSAL class AA city championships.
What you may not know though is that in the 2009 NY State semifinal game, Stephenson met his match. Stephenson was held to 12 pts, in a twenty-seven point loss to Rice High School, ending his distinguished high-school career.
Who was guarding Stephenson? Who held him to only 12 points? Who was named 2009 NYC high school player of the year over Lance Stephenson? Who was the ACC defensive player of the year?
The answer: Durand Scott.

Rodriguez played high school ball at Dr.Krop here in Miami, so it is a bit of a homecoming.
Rodriguez was also the victim of the racist “where’s your green card?” chants while playing against some school in Mississippi
With Larkin leaving to the league, the 2013-2014 season will be the Garrius Adams and Rion Brown show.
